the study break is almost over and the prelim is about to start!

hmm... to be honest, i have always enjoyed the period before the start of the exams where the only thing you are expected to do is to study and no one bothers you about anything else.

no rushing of homework, no deadlines to meet and no boring lessons to doze off in.

just you, a few friends and your huge stack of notes that you attempt to conquer, bit by bit, day by day at your own pace.

don't you agree that it is actually quite enjoyable?

the past week has been pretty good, waking up at a comfortable, natural time (9.30 for me) instead of having to drag yourself off your bed and then resting a while before going to school to study.

balancing work and play is the only problem now. kinda didn't do too well on that so i am behind schedule by a day or two but i should get through fine i guess. well, enough for prelims anyway.

i have no interest in peaking at the prelims and going downhill after that so i shall just continue whatever i am doing and then peak at the A's.

anyway, enough about that stuff, just wanna share some interesting thing that i thought of while my mind drifted off when i was studying. i remember that there was alot of stuff but i can't recall them now so here is just one.

this one came to me when i was studying population geo.

anyone noticed that there seems to be alot more girls then guys in almost every jc? asking around, that seems to be the case.

so why is that? is it that girls are smarter then guys? (i can see some of the feminist nodding vigorously) or is it that there are more guys who are equally as smart but have decided to take a risk and go onto the poly route, knowing exactly what they want to do while leaving us undecided folks over at the boring jc system. take my secondary school class for instance, everyone of the guys could easily make it to a jc, with almost everyone scoring 10 and below but yet out of the 9, 4 went to poly, though admittedly for a variety of reasons. but out of the 21 girls, i think less then 5 went to poly.

so it may be that the guys have decided on their career path earlier and are thus more adventurous instead of the idea that they are less smart then girls.

either side, there are rooms for argument and i think it would make a pretty interesting topic to talk about the next time i meet the guys.

darn, i can't remember the rest of the stuff that i wanted to blog about so this shall be it for now!

good luck for the prelims everyone!
