ahh... that's the end of the cny break... though it didn't really have the festive mood this time round for some reason. it was more then alittle boring if you ask me...
as per usual, on chu yi, i went to my parental grandma's house to collect ang pows first before going to my maternal's grandma's one. both of my grandpa's have passed away ages ago. kinda sad... seems like it really is true that girls live longer then guys.
anyway, there wasn't much to do but to gamble during cny so that was about all i did? except for playing with my nephew on the first day.
results of playing?
first day: won $75
second day: lost $120
third day: won $70
which brings me to a total earning of $25? zzz... that's abit sian... oh well, better then the hundreds i have been losing for the last few years anyway... there's still this sat. hopefully i will have more to show for it...

haha... been very lazy to blog recently...i think i shall just blog about the more interesting stuff that happened this few days.
friday was the cross-country cum cny celebration. very the slack lor... combining two events into one... it seems to be a favourite of ny or something... they are gonna combine the o2 with the j1 level camp...
the cross country was easy... mainly because i walked, or should i say strolled for like half of it? only started jogging around halfway through when i got bored of walking...
there was a little performance afterwards followed by the prize presentations. dragonboat got team champion for the guys! and second for the girls i think.
the xms ppl went back to xms after that to visit the teachers but we only managed to chat with them for a while... seems like they are pretty busy... turns out to be more like a chatting of the graduated students as we sat there and chat about our various jc. nj canoe team is a little kuazhang... they only can eat from two stalls in the sch canteen lor! imagine eating the same food for two years....
then we went to play pool at hougang plaza. played for quite a while... till we forgot the time and had to take a taxi down to amk to make it on time for the bbq. however, because quite alot of ppl were late, we only went in at like 5.30 when we were supposed to be there at 5. and damn seoul garden is ex... $23 per person leh. oh well, at least i had a nice chat with everyone. played alot of those observing games too. sometimes really funny to see the reaction of the ppl who can't guess them.
guess what we did after dinner?
yep. pool again... lol... cos really nothing else that we can do le... not like we can go clubbing or stuff liddat... i improved! or maybe i just slowed down and decided to aim instead of just slamming the ball... reach home at 12+?
that usually wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that i had to wake up early today for dragonboat. pressed snooze 3 times before i managed to drag myself out of bed...
the training today was quite ok, compared to the land training anyway. although my left hand cramped up because it didn't move for ages and i still can't coordinate when i am on the left side so i am on the right side most of the time and it's a little unbalanced. pacers gonna work like crazy lor... gotta shout the timing and row at the same time. hopefully the next land training will be in the gym but judging by the still rather large group, i doubt it...
gonna go hong bao collecting later! as well as playing cards to "pass the time". wish me luck!

oh my god... i think i am gonna wake up half dead tomorrow...
how you ask?
first of all, we had pe in the morning, which was 10 rounds round the track. surprisingly, it wasn't that bad and i could complete it without too much trouble... i think all the running the last couple of weeks is finally starting to pay off. then we went to take height and weight. yeah!!! i am finally 1.7m le! now finally can honestly say that i am 17x instead of 16x le. thank god i am still growing... i am too damn short le. my weight was horrible though. only 51kg... i really, REALLY gonna gain some weight le... but then no matter how much i pig out, i dun seem to gain any weight... this would be so good for a girl but then i am a guy so it sucks.
let's get to the main reason why i am gonna wake up half dead tomorrow.
dragonboat training.
it was sick lor!!!! first of all, they made us run 6 rounds on the outermost lane which is about 7 rounds of the normal? and that's just a warm up. then we did some warm-ups, which consist of god knows how many of the stupid squatter jump or something thingy which is something like star jump except there's 5 parts. 3 minutes break given here then we went back and were told that we didn't do the jump properly so gonna do again. ok la, i admit i didn't do it properly cos i can't seem to coordinate my arms and legs so it was either my legs moving or arms moving when they are both supposed to be in sync. and so we did the jumps. and we did god knows how many set lor. they cannot hear us shouting means we restart. and restart. and restart. by the end of it most ppl were half dead le lor...they were nice enough to give like a 30 seconds break before it was stationary excerise time. which consist of sets of push-ups, followed by crunches, followed by torso and leg lift. 20 per set and no breaks. at all. we were given 3 secs to get into position for the next set so you could see ppl like flopping around trying to get into position. same case here, some of the time they cannot hear us count means add 10 more. in the end we did 140 push-ups, 100 crunches and 80 of the lift. all continueously. really can die lor... the worse was the stupid push-ups. had to hold in position for so long that the arms are dying liao lor.

however, with all that being said, i am still gonna stay in dragonboat! the j2's are really encouraging, with the j2 girls actually doing the guy's push up instead of the girl's one. plus, it's like a personal challenge la. join liao cannot take it and quit is like very loser liddat. what's more, it will only get easier and easier as our body gets used to it so if i stay in ny after getting the results, it will become like no kick soon lor. heck, liddat napfa will be a total walk over lor. maybe standing broad jump will be the only one which still have some problems ba...

dragonboat training today!
didn't start on a good note though... only found out that the meeting time was changed to 12.55 when i went out at 12.40...didn't receive any info about the change in time lor... only found out when i was asking lin hong and geok about the time they were going...in the end i got off the mrt halfway and took a taxi there. turns out that they left late and i managed to just make it in time.
and so we walked to kallang river. first thing we saw there was a large group of tanned hunks doing pull-ups and push-ups without their shirt on. huijeen must be regretting that she nvr go liao lol... what was scary was that after the guys were done, there were a grp of girls who also started doing pull-ups... ok la, they were being supported a little by their teammates but it was still a slightly scary sight.
after watching the j2's do a demo, we got into the boat and started peddling le. learned about the commands and how to paddle properly and stuff. pretty fun too! the strange thing was that it wasn't really tiring. the j2 must be going easy on us or something...i enjoyed myself quite alot, especially during the racing part. though i really pity those who were behind me because in my over-entu-nisium, i kept splashing water while i was rowing onto those behind me. i hereby apologise to all those who were affected. paddling is so shuang!!! though i think i got a slight problem. i can paddle well enough when i am on the right side of the boat but when i am on the left side, i can't coordinate my movements for nuts. guess my right arm is totally dominant...
anyway, it ended at around 4 and i went home after showering at the national stadium.
here comes the stupid part.
after coming out of the national stadium, i saw a bus stop and suddenly didn't feel like walking back to lavender mrt and decided to just take a bus and just see where it goes. i have plenty of time anyway.
and so onto the bus i went. and took it all the way to marine parade i did. before changing to another bus and taking it to bugis. spent around 1 hr on the bus? oh, and if it doesn't look like bugis station is the next station from lavender mrt! wow... i feel so smart...

woke up at 9 this morning and it was way too early so i went back to sleep, only to wake up again at 11 and had to rush like mad to get to ps by 12. ended up being 4 minutes late though.
bleah... i dun like being late...
anyway, we wanted to watch the 1.50 show de but tim(one of our ogl) couldn't make it by that time so we decided to watch the 3.25 de show. kinda surprising la, we were buying the tickets like 3 hr early and we still had to sit on the 3rd row from the front... somemore got to split into 3 and 4 on different rows...thankfully, it wasn't like the godzilla view i once had to endure at... i forgot where le...
so anyway, since we had like 3 hrs to spend, the girls decided to shop. i am kinda used to it and besides, i quite like shopping but i think it was a first for the other guys so they were like very sian and bored out of their mind. meanwhile i brought a belt and a long sleeve shirt cos my pants were pratically dropping... shld have tried it on properly when i brought it last week...
so we walked around till the movie was about to start before we met up with tim and went into the cinema. the sitting arrangement abit sad la, the girls were together behind while the girls were together in front... a little sian diao...
let's go back to the movie.
it was great! kinda hard to give a review la cos abit complicated but it was about chiyo(zhang ziyi) growing up and becoming the most famous geisha ... forgot what's the name of the place le. mastumomo(gong li) was playing the evil character and michelle yeo was playing the good one. there were some pretty funny parts, particularly the part about the eel and the cave. pretty touching too, come to think of it.
after the movie, the girls went home and wei chong also went home. me, jun an and tim felt it was too early so we went to play xbox at x-square. pretty cheap, $3 per hour and can have a max of 3 person so it's like a dollar an hour. played halo2 a little but only can play against each other and we were all new so it wasn't much fun. changed it to spikeout and completed the game! took around 2 hrs though, including the halo2 so we went home after the game. would have like to try out more though...

oh yeah, i just noticed. i've been going out everyday of the weekend! woah...and to think that i only managed to get out like once a month or less on weekends during sec sch... i have changed quite abit haven i?
sign... still confused about where i should go... oh well, there's still quite a few weeks...
this is gonna sound weird but i think i like chi! wah... ny chi teacher are good or something...even managed to make me like chi. what's more, it isn't any reason like hj's the teacher being cool or anything. it's just that my chi teacher is really knowledgable and can really sorta makes us interested in the topic sia... if you ignore the problem that she takes abt 1 hr to go through 2 or 3 paragraphs that is, because she really go through everything and like every sentence she say got a chen yu one sia, somemore it's doesn't sounds forced in de and sounds shun...
though i think all liking for it will disappear once i have to write anything for it.
so far ny de teacher's have been giving me a pretty good impression leh... the maths teacher, or at least the tutorial one, (the lecture one is totally crap) is very good. econs all seems to have nice teachers. gp de also not bad so far... only subject with horrible teachers is physics... they are all so god damn boring lor!!! and to think that i used to love physics but now i dislike it the most liao...
it's truly amazing how much of an impact teachers have on your interest of a subject.
i used to absolutely love maths in pri sch de lor... then i was still fine with it in sec 1 and 2 but i started to hate it in sec 3 cos as you all know, the teacher didn't exactly teach very well...
similarly, i was neutral towards geo in sec 1 and 2 but i loved it in sec 3 and 4, mainly because of the teacher also because as you all know again, she is like the best teacher ever!!!
wouldn't it be great if all the teachers are as good as miss ng? then i would like love studying or something le...
wait, that sounds abit sick...
oh well, just gotta see how everything goes these few weeks i guess.

omg... i ponned sch for the first time in my life! hopefully nothing will happen...
left sch at 9+ to go to the poly's open house and it was like my liang xin abit guo bu qu liddat sia...my sec sch got perfect attendance lor...
anyway, we(a few ppl from my og) went to nyp first. woah... it's huge... then we got a very nice tour guide to bring us around... lol... we spent about 2 hours in nyp and we only went to the sch of IT sia... still got 5 other sch nvr go... did quite alot of things there, stuff like they take your photo and put in on some cards and stuff liddat...
after that, we went to tp. and woah... yi da hai you yi da da sia... super super big... at least compared to jcs la...the campus looks better then the nyp de but somehow the ppl at nyp gave me a friendier feeling leh... anyway, here also got the take photo and put on stuff de but this time they put in on a magazine cover sia... pretty cool. i think i will upload it after the person who took it scan le then send to me.
crap...i got tempted to go the nyp de business infomatics sia... now i am more undecided on where to go after the first 3 months le...
bleah... now i am suddenly sick for no apparent reason. dun rmb being with anyone who was sick or got caught in the rain or anything leh.... now got flu and sore throat. normally i get flu first then sore throat followed by cough and fever but this time i got sore throat first so it's something new. hopefully the other two won't join in this time... or i am so dead when it comes to pe
oh yeah...had dragonboat orientation yesterday. quite ok... we just ran 3 rounds around the track as an icebreaker where you are supposed to know the people around you then did some warm ups and some push-ups... then we did somemore get-to-know-you stuff then went to the lt to watch some of their training and competition videos. oh man... the pyros team from the competition is sick lor... so damn fast... i think that team is from philliphines or something... how to compete with them lor...
anyway, we are going to have a try on the dragonboats this sun. and they say there will be no selection trials so you just gotta endure the training and you are in the team le. that's good... i think.
the new timetable is crap! so little breaks de... oh well, at least dun have to stay in sch too late...
anyway, my og stayed back in sch to celebrate hui qi's birthday today. ordered pizza and lyn went to j8 and brought back a tiramisu cake. it's the first time i tried one and i must say it's very nice!!!

wy finally came after dunno how long then we walked around abit and saw hj and jy. hj volunteered to help me with the lucky draw thingy and since i didn't feel like it, i let her helped. it's some spend $80 in 3 receipts then you get to go into some thingy where papers fly around you and then you pick one de. she got some jewellery voucher which i think she forced onto jy.
sometimes i really pity jy...
anyway, we went to bugis junction to continue shopping. brought a pair of levi's jeans. ouch... the stupid jean is ex sia...
met up with rs and ken and later, yj and continued walking around abit before going for dinner.
oh yeah. do not order the pork steak from the western food stall in the food court unless you feel like trying how nkf is like now. cos it is damn salty...
shopping is really abit kong bu when you are spending money like nobody's business sia... spent $200 before i realised it... that's like 4 days of work gone down the drain lol...
oh well, gotta spend the money somehow...still going out to shop tomorrow. i am gonna enjoy the last free weekend cos starting next week, there should be cca and hw to take up the weekend le...
wow... has it really only been two weeks? it feels way longer then that... i really can't believe that we have done so much stuff in just two weeks!
anyway, after the lectures today, some of the xms ppl went back to xms to see the teachers. it was really fun flouting the rules that we used to obey when we were students there sia! using handphones in the open, wearing those coloured assessories for the girls and stuff like that.
we found miss ng and had a nice chat with her as well as with some of the other teachers. pretty cool to be back in the school after so long, though it's like i don't reconginise like half the people there. there seems to be like alot of new teachers or something. oh well, there's always miss ng =)
after that we chatted for a few hours in the canteen till about 6+? always nice to have a chat with old friends.
cca should be starting next week? i am really hoping that i will be able to stay in dragonboat...
finally split into our classes le. anyone else besides me feels that it is kinda stupid to go through orinetation only to be split into different classes again? now i gotta rmb another 20 names....

anyway, after that, my og went to the discussion room to do... of all things, study. the discussion room was nice, like those japanese style where there is a low table and cushions de. only thing missing was the sushi. then they all started to do maths. -_-''... gave up on that and me and another guy who also shares my dislike of maths started doing chem... crazy... so fast so much hw liao... chem alone can do till siao le.
oh well, better get used to it i guess.
later, when we were walking around the sch, the only thing we saw was ppl doing their hw which wasn't even due the next day but next week. god, everyone is so hardworking... see liao also abit pa4 pa4 de...
then after that we went to j8 for lunch and then walked around abit before going home. still pretty fun spending time with my og. the ppl there are nice =)
hmm...i think i am getting pretty used to life in ny.
for one, i have started sleeping in lectures and that's a good indication of how fun some of the lectures are right?

my ogl is pretty fun to be with, we are still like going everywhere together lol... though we are gonna be split into our classes tomorrow le. abit stupid... go through orinetation le then split us again. kinda makes the orinetation pointless doesn't it?
oh yeah, i got h2 chem econs maths and h1 physics for my subject combi... though it doesn't looks as if anyone got the same combi as me leh...
cca bazzar today and i chose dragonboat of course. it was the main reason i came to ny leh. though after looking at the numbers of ppl who signed up for dragonboat, i also sign up with odac as a safety guard...as luck with have it, both of their training days are on wednesday so which one am i supposed to go for?
oh yeah~~~ finally got my pay of $735 le! not bad for 16 days of work. though i think tues then can take out but man it feels great when you get your paycheck! now to spend it! so shuang!!!!
oh yeah, i think i got my paycheck le i blur diao or something cos when i went home from suntec, i forgot to get off the train and took it to orchard. then when taking the train back, i got off at somerset before finally getting to douby gaut...

WOHOO! disco night is fun! too bad it was so short...
let's start from the second day: supposed to be wet games de but like nvr get really wet so abit sian... then learned the mass dance! loved the mass dance! everyone dancing together is really fun! oh yeah... and our og went to chomp chomp together for dinner! outing on the second day, beat that!
third day: went sentosa. well... for some reason my house is always the last to know everything de and seems to be last on the list when it comes to allocation of stuff. last to get informed so went to the wrong place wasted alot of time then couldn't complete the games and also the last to set off to sentosa and today, the last to eat also! you will know why this is important later.
oh yeah. the weather seems to hate us. when we went for the beach game, it started raining so we put on our poncho and walked to the shelter. then rain stops a minute after we got there. note that this is after we walked abt 10 minutes from the game station. then we were told to skip the first station cos of the delay and go to the second station. ok... so we went to the second station. 5 grps were there and there were only space for 4 grps. and we happened to be the last to be called. so we had to wait till everyone finished to play. ok, so we played the game and went to the next station. as it turns out, the next station is one where you need alot of grps together to play. as our grp was left behind, there was no one to play with and we skipped to the last station. meaning we only played half of the beach games. -_-''...oh yeah. and the rain kept starting and stopping for alot of times.
i hate the rain.
today: fun all the way! started off with mass dance for 3 hours where i finally managed to learn the steps then we choosed our house dancing king and queen. then it was lunch followed by some games. following that, it was cheering time! god, i managed to shout till my voice grow hoarse.
then the selection for the sch dancing king and queen began!
it was pretty fun to see ppl dancing on the stage and doing some funny stuff. and man, can they dance.
and then here's where the problem came in. it was time for dinner and dinner by that stupid sidap stall wasn't ready. time check: 5+.
when we finally got to eat, it was almost 7. note that phoenix was the last to eat. again. the other houses have already started to dance long ago and the mass dance was already long completed by 7.25, the time we got there.
i am so never gonna patronise the sidap stall.
and so we started dancing! god, i think i have a split personality! i went totally crazy and danced like there's no tomorrow. you wouldn't have caught me dead dancing liddat before this. it was totally crazy, i think my feet were never on the ground for more then 3 second at a time lol... maybe it's cos we all dunno each other well yet so there's nothing to be embarrassed about and we could totally let loose. fun~~~
but then we got chased out of the sch at 8.10 cos the management, i.e, the principal, didn't allow us to stay late.
and so our og decided that it was way too early to go home and we went to play pool. kinda surprised that i was the only one apart from the ogls who actually played pool before so it turned out to be more of a teaching session then a playing session. still, it was pretty enjoyable.

finally! school has started!
well, the first day of school wasn't bad. my og group was ok and the ogls are pretty good. at least they told us how to do stuff we are not supposed to do without getting caught lol...
the programmes are kinda tame though. oh well, they said it will get more interesting so i guess i have to take their word for it.
going to sentosa on thursday! should be pretty fun.
bleah...i gtg sleep liao... didn't sleep a wink yesterday cos my body clock still have not adjusted to sleeping so early and i toss and turned in bed for like 7 hrs yesterday...

reflecting back, i think the past year was one of the best years of my life! hopefully, it will only get better from now on.
went to my grandma house for the new year celebration today but because my mom wanted to play mahjong there, we had to go damn early and was very bored there. luckily, my mom liang xin fa xie and decided to treat me and my sis to watch a movie.
and so we went to watch a movie together for the first time. and i am so not gonna go with my sis again anytime soon. i think i get along with her almost as bad as... well let's just say i would rather watch it alone. at least i got to enjoy the movie, which was pretty good.
oh yeah, the movie we watched is narnia. pretty nice movie, it followed the book quite closely. only bad thing abt it was that aslan wasn't majestic enough... i imagined him with kinda a booming voice that still sounded friendly...
i think i broke my personal record for the time in between two movies. first time i watched a movie so soon after one sia. though i have no idea when the next time i watch a movie will be.
oh yeah. new year's resolution! didn't give myself any last year cos i know i wont be able to keep them and don't think that i will this year as well...maybe just the one: become a better person!
