hmm...i think i took a very long break over the past few days after the prelims.

spent most of the time at home staring at the com apart from two afternoon of mahjong though.

i think i really need to get out more... though then the problem would be to find people who are free or bored enough...

    haiz...

anyway, i found a site that allows you to dl ebooks for free so i was able to get a few book that i have wanted to read for a while but was too lazy to get.

that and the fact that i am a little too old for them lol...

anyway, i started on those series back when i was young and they still provide good enjoyment so i don't really see why not to reading them so i finished atermis fowl and the lost colony, eragon and eldest in the past few days.

    pretty good reading.

anyway. the break has ended so it's back to mugging starting tmr!

gotta start building up the momentum again though.

oh yeah, i just remembered! celebrated mid-autumn festival early with the e4 ppl on sat which was a pretty fun time talking crap and just relaxing.

kinda lazy to blog too much about it since hj has pretty much said everything in her blog already so i shall just post a few photos!

    preparing...

    done!

    the gang

    kobe acting cute...

jy and wy's attempt at a stunt

    the girl's attempt

my attempt to frighten the little kids celebrating at the primary school opposite

which turn out not so scary.

    us with the lanterns!

i demostrated my little trick with the sparklers..

    then everyone joined in!

yj, caught in the crossfire: wah! you all wanna burn me to death ar?

    joanne's incomplete circle

    and my completed circle!

ran out of sparklers after that lol... cos the way we play with it makes it last like 5 seconds instead of the normal time.

    it was pretty fun though!

quite a nice way to relax...

hmm... maybe i will go to the park later and join in the fun!

well, the prelims are over already and it went alright i guess, except for econs essays which is pretty much a gone case.

not gonna do too well for geo either cos i was over confident and didn't prepare well for it.

a mistake made is a mistake learned then. not gonna happen again for the A's!

seriously though, i think the gaps inbetween the papers are way too large. i had a four days break between the papers which totally destroyed my motivation for the second half of the exams cos i was pretty much in a post exam mood already.

    bad idea.

shall take a rest these few days and then start studying after school starts again next wednesday! maybe if i feel guilty before that, i might start studying a little.

lol... who am i kidding man.

sigh... i wish someone would come and tell me what i have been doing right and what i have done wrong though. it's just too hard to try and understand someone's mind, especially if you think too much about the consequence of your actions and even more so when what you are telling yourself and what you and your heart is actually doing and thinking is so different!

    dumb ass la me.

anyway, while studying econs last week, my mind wandered off and thought of something dumb. with all the hell money that we burn every year during the seventh month, won't there be major inflation taking place every year?

and i pity the accountants over there who have to work with the ridiculous amount of digits they print on those money lol...

the study break is almost over and the prelim is about to start!

hmm... to be honest, i have always enjoyed the period before the start of the exams where the only thing you are expected to do is to study and no one bothers you about anything else.

no rushing of homework, no deadlines to meet and no boring lessons to doze off in.

just you, a few friends and your huge stack of notes that you attempt to conquer, bit by bit, day by day at your own pace.

don't you agree that it is actually quite enjoyable?

the past week has been pretty good, waking up at a comfortable, natural time (9.30 for me) instead of having to drag yourself off your bed and then resting a while before going to school to study.

balancing work and play is the only problem now. kinda didn't do too well on that so i am behind schedule by a day or two but i should get through fine i guess. well, enough for prelims anyway.

i have no interest in peaking at the prelims and going downhill after that so i shall just continue whatever i am doing and then peak at the A's.

anyway, enough about that stuff, just wanna share some interesting thing that i thought of while my mind drifted off when i was studying. i remember that there was alot of stuff but i can't recall them now so here is just one.

this one came to me when i was studying population geo.

anyone noticed that there seems to be alot more girls then guys in almost every jc? asking around, that seems to be the case.

so why is that? is it that girls are smarter then guys? (i can see some of the feminist nodding vigorously) or is it that there are more guys who are equally as smart but have decided to take a risk and go onto the poly route, knowing exactly what they want to do while leaving us undecided folks over at the boring jc system. take my secondary school class for instance, everyone of the guys could easily make it to a jc, with almost everyone scoring 10 and below but yet out of the 9, 4 went to poly, though admittedly for a variety of reasons. but out of the 21 girls, i think less then 5 went to poly.

so it may be that the guys have decided on their career path earlier and are thus more adventurous instead of the idea that they are less smart then girls.

either side, there are rooms for argument and i think it would make a pretty interesting topic to talk about the next time i meet the guys.

darn, i can't remember the rest of the stuff that i wanted to blog about so this shall be it for now!

good luck for the prelims everyone!
