    Pw

of all the stupid education policies to be implemented, pw has got to be the stupidest thing for the jc aspect. some people say that gp is the worst but for me, pw is 100% the worst.

it's stupid, it makes no sense and it serve absolutely no purpose what so ever.

everything that they want us to learn during pw are rarely, if ever actually achieved. and it is just a freaking waste of time that could have been spent elsewhere!

it is essentially a test of your crapping skill to see if you can get a few hundred words out describing a stupid article or analysing a few surveys or a few thousand words putting everything done before together and make it sounds full of substance when it is just a small piece of infomation that you extend out to meet the word limit.

in other words, there is only one word for pw: crappy piece of sucky shit!

    make that 5 words.

it get worst if your group is not exactly very interested in the project and there are those who are doing zitch.

    i hate pw.

oh yeah, i did something stupid today.

you see, i fell asleep on the bus back home and i got off 2 stops after the stop i am supposed to get off. and when i get off the bus, i saw the bus i can take go off on the other side of the road. and 136 takes a very long time to come, about 15-20 minutes so i thought that " hey, two bus stops isn't that much. i think i can get back faster if i walked instead of waiting for the bus."

and so i walked. who knew that my estimation of distance sucks and i actually walked for about close to 40 minutes before i reached my home.

oh well, i will just consider that as exploring my neighbourhood since i passed a number of places i didn't know about, like a bakery in one of the blocks? although that shop looks so old that i doubt i will ever go there to buy bread when i got a coffeeshop, 2 provision shop and a shop that sells waffles and bubble tea directly below my house.

oh yeah, did i mention before that the only thing i like about my house is the way i can get food within 5 minutes? there's a clinic, a chinese medicine shop, a hairdresser shop, singapore pools and a stationary shop that sells other useful stuff below my house too.

though i would gladly exchange all of that for a bigger house where i dun have to share a room with my sis...

i supposed one can't have everything so i shalln't be greedy and just make do with what i have!

Humans are such ridiculous creatures, the more you tell them not to do something, the more they will do it, without any reason other then that primal urge to rebel.

Worse of all, even when they know that they aren't doing what they are supposed to, they will still go ahead and do it, just cause the other alternative is something they are told to do.

I guess everyone is guilty of this and I am always doing this without even realising till after I had already done it and can't do anything about it anymore.

After all, there are many things that cannot be undone once it has been done.

I think I should really follow what we learned in the workshop so long ago.

Pause and think before doing anything. After all, that few seconds spent might just change everything.

Pity I am such a rash person that will do things on the spur of the moment without thinking.

Gotta try and change myself slowly...

Time wasted is time gone. Actions taken will have a result. Just as you cannot take back time, many result cannot be changed. So think before you act.

    The Dark Tower

woah! i have finally finished the last book of the series of The Dark Tower by stephen king!

with each book averaging about 600+ pages and the last one at over 1k page, i must say that it has been a long read but i enjoyed every minute of it. for some reason, the longer the book i read, the happier i am, provided the book is well written of course.

and this series is really great! the ending was unexpected to say the least and i strongly recommand this series to anyone who has alot of free time on their hand and enjoy a good read.

not gonna bother with a review here, there's plenty on the net so just search for it if you are curious but just take my word for it and read it!

    One hell of a week

this week has been busy man... maybe it's mainly cos i decided to get my lazy butt of my com's chair and actually started to do some of the tutorials ba.

come to think of it, the next few weeks will still be damn busy, with common tests coming and promos too.

oh well, let all the busy time come at one go and let me relax after that. at least that would be better then being busy the entire year.

pool training today, which i thought was quite slack, if there wasn't the fartlek(pronounced as fucklegs) and the pull-ups.

really don't like running unless it's an easy jog leh... i rather row for 2 hrs then run for 2 hrs.

and the fartleks are really appropriately named sia... they really fuck with your legs. normally muscle aches comes after you wake up the next day but with fartleks, your pain comes right after running.

the pool rowing was fun though. we sat at the side of the pool and rowed with one leg in the water. however, people soon grew bored of rowing and instead choose to sneak up on people and push them into the pool. and with half your body over the water, pushing someone into the water is an easy task. just about everyone got pushed into the water a couple of times and everyone was cool about it so it was nice.

after debrief, some of the guys went back to the pool and swim for a while. i can't swim so i was mainly just lying in the water trying to look like a corpse or just relaxing in the water.

funny thing is that i love to play in the water yet i got kinda a phobia about it cos i can't swim and nearly drowned more then a couple of times in the past cos i love to go and soak myself in the sea despite the fact that the moment i can't step onto the ground, i am in trouble liao.

sign... i really should learn how to swim.

    and soon.

    Pirates of the Caribbean

rocks man! i love that show. It's a comedy, action film+ a love movie all rolled into one!

managed to watch it today despite the hiccups yesterday with yongliang, teik ling, fiona, and yuanting.

went early to get the tickets but still couldn't get very good seats cos the show is really too popular le.

so we had sometime before the movie started and i went to play pool with yongliang while the girls did their tutorials.

-_-''... yep... they brought their tutorials out. wah... jc life got so cham ma...like i the only one still relaxing sia

anyway, the movie is damn nice, though i wish they explained some parts abit more cos like abit lack of details leh. it's like almost laughing every 5 minutes la. great show to relax and watch sia.

then after the show ended, ppl told us got something after the credits so we waited for the freaking long credits to end, where there are like a hundred digital animators or something.

in the end it is like a ten second clip of something not relavent.

    waste my time sia...

but the movie itself is really worth the money even when you watched it on sunday sia. it's long enough, though i wouldn't mind if it was longer, has a great great soundtrack and great characters!

    i love pirates!

    GAH!

i hate this shit! second time for the second straight week that a movie outing i tried to organise for the same group of people and it fails at the last minute cos ppl decided to back out at the last minute.

worse of all, they didn't even tell me they are not going till i was comfirming it with them!!!

    wth is this!

and to top it all off, someone has to make my blood pressure continue to rise after a few sms.

i should have just stick to what i said i will do last year.

i will never organise anything anymore.

    damn me if i do.

the human mind is such a complex thing, filled with wonderful thoughts and feeling as well as those of the not so wonderful variety.

some people say what they think while others prefer to keep it in their heart but one's thing for sure: no one else will know exactly what you are thinking and the same is true the other way round.

i hate it when somehow my mind tries to guess what others are thinking abt stuff concerning me, because, honestly speaking, i suck at it and 9/10 times, i guess wrongly.

so why do i even bother?

i guess it is just part of human nature, to think is to live.

how i wish the human mind was an open-book that can't hide any desires or feelings and no one will be getting any wrong impression or stuff like that but then that would be impossible.

in a way, it will also take away some of the element of mystery that surrounds it that makes it beautiful in the first place.

still, i wish that i can acertain somethings so i can once again be at peace with myself, though the results will most likely not be the type i want it to be.

how many times do i have to go through this freaking process of happiness, hope, fear then sadness? how long before i can finally get rid of this stupid cycle? i sorely wish that i have more control over thoughts and feelings but they seem to prefer to run wild.

might as well try to rein in a rampaging horse.

but this time round, i wanna do something different. this time, i wanna do nothing and if i can force my mind into it, hope for nothing. because that's the only sure way that i won't lose anything.

better a 100% chance of a small happiness then a 1% chance of a greater happiness that will lose the small happiness if failed.

damn, hope is both a wonderful and a hideously cruel thing.

this weird thought just popped into my head.

wouldn't it be nice if i have two heads?

imagine! you can play and study at the same time! or eat and read! or having two pairs of eyes to look at different things you wanna look at at the same time! :X you can finish studying everything in half the time!

of course, if i had two heads, i wouldn't be studying. more likely i would be in a lab somewhere being examined by scientist how this freak came about.

    ok, that was random.

    Saturday's fun!

the saturday's for this couple of weeks have been fun!

finally went back to training le.

god, i miss rowing. not sure why but i really enjoy the time in the boat where i don't have to think about anything else other then rowing my best.

however, starting from this training, we need to run from kallang to east coast before rowing. supposed to run to the mac at east coast de but since it was our first time, everyone was kinda slow and we turned back before reaching the mac.

ran about 10km? non-stop but since we were running slowly, it was still ok.

then training started and we were introduced to our new coach. well... his techique and water feel is superb but somehow he lacks in the motivation factor. dun really feel motivated or inspired by him like mr lee can do leh.

kfc-ed after that and then went with some of the db ppl to get their farewell gift for their seniors. i got mine the day before so there wasn't much worries there.

on the other hand, those looking for the gifts were kinda in a rush cos we are supposed to reach harbourfront by 3.30 and we only reached ps to get the gifts at 3.10.

got the gifts and went to habourfront but we were like among the early ppl so we decided to go the palawan beach ourselves cos the seniors were already there le.

but before we did that, i got bored and suggested to get fhm for the seniors for fun. everyone agreed to the idea but no one wanna buy it and had to draw lots in the end. poor jun an kena

the buying part was super funny though. jun an grabbed the mag, folded it so cannot see the front cover, went to the counter and when the guy at the counter took the mag, he looked up at jun an with a suprised expression and then went about scanning the mag but we could see that he was trying hard not to laugh.

so were the rest of us, come to that. when we went out of the shop, all of us burst out laughing.

got the palawan and then the fun began!

played soccer, volleyball and contact rugby.

ouch, contact rugby on the sand is painful. especially with dexter on the other team. takes like 3 person to stop him and he still can drag you along the sandpaper like sand.

still, it was way fun! even mr lee joined in!

there was alot of interruption though, cos we keep stopping to carry people and throw them into the sea when they arrived. i think everyone kena, even mr lee! then alot of people also got muachi-ed. as in like throw them into the sea liao carry them up again onto the sand and roll them in it, making human muachi. thank god i only got dunked.

then we had our catered dinner at dusk but by the time we started to get our food, we couldn't tell chicken wing from prawns liao cos it was almost totally dark le. pretty fun to eat that way though. then we sat around, listening to our seniors saying their farewell speeches some of them are like super touched by their leaving db so said some interesting stuff.

gave our seniors their gifts and the everyone talked abit then we all started to leave cos it was too dark to do anything.

but then being as draggy as we are, we started to leave at like 8 but only left at like 9.30 though.

dropped dead the moment i showered after i reached home.

come to think of it, that's like the only entire day that i didn't use the com for god knows how long le.

db's like my only interesting thing about school now.

not that i mind though, i can think of plenty of worse thing that i could be doing so i should count my blessing.

i wanna row, row and row!

woah. i just realise time flies even when you are doing nothing sia.

been quite a few days since i blogged but now it's back to the normal boring life and nothing much seems to happen.

well, not much that i can remember anyway.

saturday was an interesting day though.

went early in the morning to school for the "traditional" soccer match between our db seniors before they leave.

hmm... maybe next year we can start a few tradition of our own that we like. something like... treating your senior to a five course meal on the final weekend or something. :X

was quite a fun match though. too many juniors so everyone played one half only but i think that's like the max that everyone can play though. after running around in the field for 30 minutes wanna die liao. the seniors were good man, they played for the full match without changing anyone. their playing skill also not bad but they can run like forever and still not be tired de lor.

final score: 5-0 to the seniors.

    man they are good.

soccer was followed by a basketball match. i opted out cos i can't play basketball to save my life but watched them play abit. seniors still better but not too sure of the exact score but quite a trashing.

after that the j1s went to play lan then followed by pool.

    wah, macham sports day sia.

tired as well when finally reached home.

got back most of our paper le, except econs. luckily, i managed to pass everything so far but most are like borderline stuff lor... all D and E. the only exception was something i never expected.

chinese!!! omg, i got a B for chinese? how in the world did chinese become my best subject???

worst thing of all was that i didn't even touch anything for chinese la. not that the format requires you to touch anything for it though. and i think chinese is the best subject for alot of people cos like alot of people fail their h2s so comparatively, i did ok la.

though i think my class average score is like the bottom 20% of the school or something. kinda bad leh...

oh well, nothing i can do about that so i just gotta live with it.

sports carnival today. woah... some of those people can run! but the audience side was kinda dead though...

still, props to the sc for actually organising it. the place looks nice with all the balloons and such.

if only the people were more enthu then i think the whole thing would be alot more fun le.

anyway, after the sports carnival, i wasted some time before going to bonn's house to play xbox with loga and sheri due to a lack of a better place to go.

enjoyed myself quite alot, 4 player halo2 played with just swords is fun! laughed till die at some parts cos we keep having killing chains. like A was following B trying to backstab B but after he kills B he gets killed by C who is stalking him and after A dies C realises that D is behind him but dies before being able to do anything. damn amusing sia.

i realise that the main attraction of console games is when friends come over to play and everyone has a good laugh at what happens in the game and just having fun!

pity when ps3 comes out it's gonna be like 1k and there's no way i am gonna be able to pay that.

oh well, just gotta make do with playing at other people's house :X

Have you ever had friends or roommates who seldom come through? They say they will call you and they don't. They promise to pick you up for the game and they forget. After a while, you don't trust them. Their commitments mean nothing. The same thing occurs when you continually make and break promises to yourself, suck as " I'm going to get up at six tomorrow morning" or " I'm going to get my homework done right when I get home" After a while, you stop trusting yourself.

Who should treat commitments wemake to ourselves as seriously as those we make to the most important people in our lives.

    5 July

    pretty eventful day today.

well, to speak the truth, the studies part were kinda a waste of time. basically, we were told how badly we did for the mid-years and stuff like that, and getting some of the papers back in the progress.

econs was... well, we haven't gotten the paper yet back but on average, only 3-4 person passed the paper per class.

definately not a good thing to hear.

then we had pe. played soccer but it wasn't much fun cos the court was way too small and the other team were not exactly very interested in playing so it felt kinda dozy.

however, unlucky shunjie fell while playing and scrapped his chin. he said he was ok at first but it got progressively worse till he had to go to the hospital. which reminds me, i should check on how he is doing tmr.

got back half of our geo, the physical geo part.

and.... shocker of shocker, huijeen actually topped the level! i was like O.O....

anyway, i didn't do too badly for it so all is fine.

chem next. we got a new teacher who is pretty nice, nicer then a certain someone whom we don't have to see anymore :X

though it looks like he's gonna become another one of hj's thouand and one so gotta suffer on that aspect.

got back our paper and i got 45% for it, which is a on the dot pass. sucks, especially when i hear about some of the other classes where most of them got like B or A but our class most failed -_-''...

    shall work harder for chem.

then went to see audrey about our pw and i still think my pw is gonna be crappy. my group don't work thattt well together and there's the usual lack of fairness of work distrubution.

actually, kinda an extreme lack of fairness. i think like 2 person is gonna be doing most the work and the worst part of it is, i am one of the 2.

just gotta live with it i guess

then went to the gym to train train abit then slack slack abit before going to play soccer with the db ppl in preparation for our match against our seniors before the farewell for them.

a tradition passed down from one generation to another.

    or so they say.

anyway, should be quite fun. short week ahead! friday's the sports day so can leave early as well! though i am still wondering what to do with the rest of that day...

    Last Barking On|11:06 PM|

    Monday, July 03, 2006

hmm... i must be really bored. decided to clear up my stuff a little. by clearing, i mean moving those stuff that are obstructing movement and are an eyesore to some place where they are less of an eyesore. usually they just go into a cupboard somewhere, never to see the light of day again.

anyway, i found this book that hankee gave to me as a birthday present as a couple of years ago. not sure why it's there though, cos i usually keep all the presents i ever received in a drawer. yep, everything i ever received can fit into a small drawer lol. couldn't find anything better to do so i picked up the book and read abit of it. it was some self improvement book so i didn't read it when i got it cos i thought it was bullcrap but turns out it's pretty interesting.

decided to type out some of the stuff i found are more useful in a bid to remember them and (hopefully) actually be able to follow them.

maybe it will make me become a better person!

there's quite abit so i thought i will type out a few aday, sorta as a footnote at the end of my posts.

Ask any successful person and most will tell you that they had a person who believed in them, be it a teacher, a friend, a parent, a sister, a grandmother. It doesn't really matter who it is but just by spending time with this person, you will be able to break free of your negative self perception which can put limitation on you, just as a positive perception can bring out the best in us. For example, my mother (the author's, not mine) was such a person. She was always saying stuff like " Sean, of course you should run for class president" and " Ask her out! I'm sure she would just die to go out with you. " Whenever I needed to be affirmed I'd talk to my mom and she'd clean my glasses.

Don't be afraid to lean on and get nourished by this person who believes in you. Go to him or her for advice. Try to see yourself the way he or she sees you.

Independence is more attractive then dependence. Believe me, you'll be a better boyfriend or girlfriend if you are not centered on your partner. Besides, centering your life on another doesn't show that you love them, only that you're dependent on them.

The Golden Rule! Begin today to treat others as you want them to treat you. Don't be impatient, late, complain about leftovers, or bad-mouth someone, unless you want the same treatment. We always hear about this but just spend a moment to think about it and you will realise how true it is.

    1 July

Wah... so many days never blog le! Been too lazy liao

anyway, let's see what happened in the past few days.

wed was geo, which went quite well.

me, huijeen, jiayong and shunjie went to play mahjong at at sj house. wah, i just realised that all their names got j de.

quite a good one. cos i didn't lose much. lost by 30 cents nia, and is 3 lose 1 to shunjie. home ground advantage ar? i think this is like my 3rd best mahjong result lol... won once, draw once, and this time lost 30 cents out of the dozens of time i played.

i think i really not meant for mahjong sia, pay so much school fees liao still never improve and keep losing nia.

then thursday was a total slacking day. stare and com and stare at storybook. makes a nice change for abit.

fri had to go for the stupid chinese oral.

wah, i think this is my worse oral ever.

first of all, for a change, i can read most of the words of the passage. actually i infered most of the words from the context of the passage la but then i think they were correct. but then dunno why when go to the teacher's there liao forgot what i guessed the words to be and the more i read, the more mistakes i made. slight case of nerves i guess.

then came the conversation. i think my honesty doesn't work here sia.

first they asked if i know that mrt stations now got give out chi newspaper. didn't notice it but then still say yes. then they ask if i though that that helps in the promotion of reading chi then i crapped something through. no idea why i said something about singaporeans tan xiao pian yi...

then they asked if given a choice, would i take the chi or eng one then i decided to be honest and say i would take the eng one cos i read eng faster -_-''...

then this is the funniest thing i thought about the oral exam. the qns is like supposed to be the same for whole sg de right? then the teacher said this.

wo ting shuo nan yang shi yi ke hua wen wen hua hen qiang de xue siao. na ni de tong xue she bu she da duo hui xuan hua wen bao ne?

translated it means: i heard that nanyang is a school with a strong chinese culture. so would most of your friends choose to read chinese newspaper?

abit stunned then i said no cos most would read english one cos gp need.

but then how come the qn can ask something about the sch specifically de???

    weird.

went to the gym after gp. god, didn't worked out for so long that everything also deprove and felt weak sia.

but then today woke up felt better. should really get back our fitness level like mr lee said sia...

    work hard ppl!
