Yay! I enjoyed the training for this two days because i can feel the people putting in the effort and we are rowing better le! I think somehow it's because these two days is mixed boat and I am not sure why but I feel better rowing...
Finally not the first pacer le! Now i can just concentrate on rowing and dun have to care about if i am going too fast or too slow le! not much fun if you screw up and sabo the whole boat.
anyway, for the first time yesterday, we were allowed to row past the second bridge, all the way to clarke quay. scenic sia. though i can't say much about singaporean's state of cleaniness sia... remember how much the water stink when you are walking pass the singapore river when you are walking to vch? we were rowing in that water lor. way too full of tour boats and the whole river was like oil la. luckily it didn't stink so much in the morning... we went to the mac there to refill water and after refilling, the boats got stuck sia. mr lee had to get out and push the boats out.
mr lee makes a nice db teacher, he doesn't lose his temper much and is quite good to us. plus, he has to sacrifice all his weekend mornings for us. and then like he says, he cannot go clubbing on fri nights. though the scene of mr lee clubbing is mentally very funny. thanks ar mr lee!
today's journey there was a bit crappy... forgot that today's the big walk and only realised it when i saw all the people outside dhoby gaout mrt. it's like 6+ and the whole place was packed le la. then when i took the bus, the usual route was closed off and it had to go one big round and dropped us off at some far off place and had to walk like 20 minutes to get in. and man, was it packed. people mountain people sea sia...
today's rowing was also pretty good, didn't lag behind the j2 much, like the day before. though it's mainly due to the fact that we got more ppl la. still, we did pretty good!
going home was another pain in the ass. our release time coincide with the end of the big walk and as you can guess, the place was flooded. waited for so many buses and have to squeeze to death to get onto the bus. worse of all, it started to rain heavily right after we failed to squeeze onto a bus and were standing infront of the yellow line, out of the shelter of the bus stop. we were not standing there by choice though. it's because we had zero room to move back as the entire busstop was full of people.
after eating, we went to watch over the hedge! wah... movie starts at 2.10 we start queuing for the tickets at 2.05 and only got the tickets at like 2.12? and eng wah cinema no commerical de sia so we missed a little of the front part...
it was a very funny movie. sitting at the second row at the extreme corner wasn't as bad as i thought, at least i didn't have to strain my neck like the last time i sat in the middle of the first row for a movie. the movie got alot of laugh out loud moments, especially when it involves the hyper squirrel. anyway, what's up with funny squirrels and animated movies these days ar? though it was slightly spoiled by a little kid that was running around and screaming at the top of her voice at some parts of the movie... it was also kinda short... abt 80 minutes long nia. still, it's quite worth it to watch it la. actually wanted to watch da vinci but it seems to suffer from bad reviews and then some people dun wanna watch it liao... oh well. there's always the not so correct way to watch it... x-men 3 next week!
wah, expenses kinda heavy sia... movie every week...
