13 Feburary

for the first time, the chingay parade came to hougang! best of all, there is a performance stage just opposite my house! went down to watch it at 7+. alan wu and a dj was the host. it started off with the choir ppl from st. margaret then a dance by them. not bad... then they played some lame games with the kids, attempting to delay time till the guest of honors (george yeo and eric low) arrived. they attempted to make the crowd cheer for them but failed miserably. it's hard to get a crowd to cheer all of a sudden de la. then the floats came, about 10 of them. not bad looking, but i would call them mobile advertising boards instead of floats though. advertisments were everywhere. i kinda pity the ppl on the floats though. they have to have a smile plastered on their face and keep waving at the crowds for god knows how long. kinda dull though, even considering the fact that i didn't watch the chingay parade even on tv so i have never seen any of them before. someone told me there were fireworks at the other areas. pity there wasn't any over here...
