22 January

dragonboat training today!

didn't start on a good note though... only found out that the meeting time was changed to 12.55 when i went out at 12.40...didn't receive any info about the change in time lor... only found out when i was asking lin hong and geok about the time they were going...in the end i got off the mrt halfway and took a taxi there. turns out that they left late and i managed to just make it in time.

and so we walked to kallang river. first thing we saw there was a large group of tanned hunks doing pull-ups and push-ups without their shirt on. huijeen must be regretting that she nvr go liao lol... what was scary was that after the guys were done, there were a grp of girls who also started doing pull-ups... ok la, they were being supported a little by their teammates but it was still a slightly scary sight.

after watching the j2's do a demo, we got into the boat and started peddling le. learned about the commands and how to paddle properly and stuff. pretty fun too! the strange thing was that it wasn't really tiring. the j2 must be going easy on us or something...i enjoyed myself quite alot, especially during the racing part. though i really pity those who were behind me because in my over-entu-nisium, i kept splashing water while i was rowing onto those behind me. i hereby apologise to all those who were affected. paddling is so shuang!!! though i think i got a slight problem. i can paddle well enough when i am on the right side of the boat but when i am on the left side, i can't coordinate my movements for nuts. guess my right arm is totally dominant...

anyway, it ended at around 4 and i went home after showering at the national stadium.

here comes the stupid part.

after coming out of the national stadium, i saw a bus stop and suddenly didn't feel like walking back to lavender mrt and decided to just take a bus and just see where it goes. i have plenty of time anyway.

and so onto the bus i went. and took it all the way to marine parade i did. before changing to another bus and taking it to bugis. spent around 1 hr on the bus? oh, and if it doesn't look like bugis station is the next station from lavender mrt! wow... i feel so smart...
