bleh... so much for my confidence in the maths tests. got crap for them. marking was damn strict sia...
today was quite a long day with a lot of lessons, till 4 infact. the longest day of the week has just become tuesday.
i watched the you hua jiu suo last last week i think and wanted to blog about it but keep forgetting until the pc lesson today then i remembered. you know, the esposide with ms tee as a guest speaker? anyway, the topic was on learning chinese and one of the guest speaker said this. of course he said it in chinese so this is a translation.
Everyone only has 24 hours in a day. You can only spend so much time studying so no one can be good at everything. if your maths is good, perhaps your chinese is not. if your chinese is also good, perhaps your english suffers. if all your subjects are good, then perhaps your social life suffers.
i feel that this is true up to a large extent.(sounds like ss) while this is true, different people may be affected by it to a different extent. the amount of effort put in by two person might be the same but what the result is might be vastly different. it might be a case of not working correctly or the intelligence of the two person might just be different. while i believe that life is fair most of the time, i think that like everything else, it makes a mistake once in a while and thus you see those case where people are so talented that they get better results without studying then those who study their ass off. in the other extreme, there are also those such as young children who suffers from illnesses or are born with them. they have done nothing to deserve this and yet it still happens to them. thus, we should all just do our best and not worry too much about the outcome. ms ng also said something about this today. worrying doesn't help in the least, as long as you have done your best, then you should not worry too much about the outcome. you have done your best and you should not feel any regrets.
anyway, back to the topic. i think that we should get a balance between work and play and not deprive ourself of the other. it doesn't help even if you get all a1s and you are not happy. you should work hard, yes, but don't torture yourself in the process.
with all that being said, can i myself do it? that remains to be seen.
