Argh. Serious headache. Been studying chinese for the last 3 hrs? but feels like nothing is going in.
read an article on the names parents gives their children on sunday. i think it is quite interesting. some of those parents really give very weird names like otard? this kids usually grow up tormented by others about their names. it seems that as long as you are slightly different from what most ppl believe are the norm, you will be disturbed about it, just to how large an extent. refering to myself too in this case. but them we all have to learn to cope with it or else our lives will be miserable. we first have to accept outself for who we are before others can accept us. that's what i believe anyway. i have learnt not to take any of these teasing to heart anymore after so long. believe me, it has been like this since primary sch. if i haven't learnt to take it as a joke, i would have gone crazy lol... but then these ppl normally grow up more confident and sure of themselves then others. hope it is true...
and on the other extreme, the very common names. chinese names seem to be servely limited though. girls names mostly contain "ing", "in" "ui" and guys are not much better. "jia", "jun", "yong" "guo" and some other charaters dominate. kinda makes you wanna give some rather uncommon names like otard, doesn't it? i think there are just way too many people in the world so all the names are servely overused. so we have to invent some? haha...a viking name would be nice...
